Co-catalysts: maximizing profitability through product flexibility
As Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) product values change, the drive to maximize either gasoline or diesel from the FCC unit has resulted in dynamic market fluctuations. How does a refiner respond to these market variations to maximize the value of the products from the FCC unit? Co-Catalysts, a new product category from BASF, provide refiners with the flexibility to change the product slate of the FCC unit without changing the base FCC catalyst. Changing between a maximum gasoline Co-Catalyst and a maximum LCO Co-Catalyst will alow the refiner to rapidly meet the most favorable economics at all times, capturing the economic advantage.
