Safe flash point testing of refined products, oils and chemicals

Flashpoint testing is required in a number of industries to ensure conformance with regulatory requirements. It is used to assess, how much care has to be taken in handling, transporting and storing chemicals or solvents, e.g. Diesel, Jet Fuels, Biofuels, Asphalt, Waste Water, Lube Oils, Used Oils, Hydraulic Oils, Flavors and Fragrances, Chemicals, Adhesives, Plastics or Paints and Varnishes.
 
Flashpoint measurements can also be used to indicate the degree of contamination of certain materials. For instance, if a non-volatile material such as oil is mixed with a volatile material such as a fuel, the high flashpoint of the oil is lowered substantially and the lowered flashpoint of the oil can be used to signal when the fuel contamination level of the oil has reached an unacceptable limit.
