SENER awarded the contract for a cogeneration plant in Veracruz, Mexico

Alpek S.A.B. de C.V., through its subsidiary Grupo Petrotemex, S.A. de C.V., has awarded a "turnkey" contract to a consortium led by SENER Mexico for the construction of a cogeneration power plant in Cosoleacaque, Veracruz (Mexico) which will have a capacity of over 85 MW. This plant will boost the competitiveness of Alpek's operations.
 
The new facility to be built will have two gas turbines, two Heat recovery steam generators and a back pressure steam turbine.
 
Within the construction consortium, SENER will carry out the basic and detailed engineering, and will also coordinate the project. The timeframe for completing construction will be 23 months, meaning that the plant is slated for completion in February 2014.
 
This new contract confirms SENER Mexico's national standing in projects in power and process. SENER Mexico currently has over 350 employees who has participated in relevant engineering and construction projects throughout the country for combined cycle power plants such as Norte I in Durango, Poza Rica´s power plant in Tihuatlán, La Cangrejera petrochemical plant and the diesel hydro-desulphurizers for PEMEX's Tula and Salamanca refineries in Veracruz,as well as Morelia´s rail beltway, Hospital General de México, Mexico City Airport, and intelligent transport projects on highways across the country for clients such as SCT, Banobras and CAPUFE. In addition to this, SENER Mexico's professionals work on projects around the globe.
