Petrofac selects leading technology from Intergraph’s SmartPlant solutions
Petrofac, a leading international service provider to the oil & gas production and processing industry has chosen Intergraph SmartPlant® Enterprise solutions to support productivity goals across the execution chain for major international projects.
SmartPlant Enterprise technology is able to add value in terms of improved design quality on projects, and support a competitive edge in today’s market place.
Enhanced productivity with improved quality of deliverables is one of the benefits Petrofac will be able to leverage by using Intergraph’s solutions. Petrofac also acknowledges the trend of some Owner Operators to standardize on Intergraph software.
The decision to work more closely with Intergraph and to enter into a long-term contract was taken by Petrofac recently. It now has SmartPlant 3D, SmartPlant Electrical, SmartPlant P&ID and SmartPlant Review alongside its existing portfolio of tools.
In its fourth decade of operations, Petrofac executes major projects in the oil & gas industry around the world, having a proven track record and has delivered impressive results, particularly in projects in the Middle East, North Africa and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Intergraph’s integrated solutions provide advanced design-, construction-, materials- and engineering data management capabilities for the creation-, operation-, maintenance- and Project Lifecycle Management (cPLM) of process, power, marine &offshore projects. The software’s life-cycle data management functionality will support Petrofac’s ability to achieve a smoother handover to Owner Operators and make it easier for owner operators to maintain, refurbish or modify their plants.
Commenting on the software, Petrofac’s Vice President, Operational Excellence, Stephen Major said: “It was an important decision for us to include Smart Plant Enterprise from Intergraph in our engineering tools portfolio. We are confident that this will augment our delivery ability and allow us to service the requirements of our customers with up to date and progressive software platforms.”
Gerhard Sallinger, Intergraph Process, Power & Marine president, said, “Intergraph looks forward to being a strong and reliable partner for Petrofac. We continue to work hard on supplying our customers with the best knowledge-based and rules-driven technologies to improve safety, quality and productivity. This gives our ever-increasing customer base around the world in the process, power, offshore and marine industries the competitive edge they need.”
