Technip awarded contract for a new calcination unit for a coker project in Abu Dhabi
Technip was awarded a significant contract comprising technology, engineering services and supply of core equipment for Abu Dhabi Oil Refining Company – Takreer's new coke calcination unit. This new unit is part of the Carbon Black & Delayed Coker project being implemented adjacent to Takreer’s existing Ruwais refinery located in the United Arab Emirates.
The unit will consist of two trains and is designed to process 700,000 tons per annum superior-quality anode green petroleum coke through 2 kilns, thanks to the implementation of world-leading licensed technologies. Technip's operating center in Düsseldorf, Germany will execute the contract, which is scheduled to be completed by the fourth quarter of 2015.

The award reinforces the world-leading position of the rotary kiln and cooler technologies representing about 70% of the world’s total calcined coke production capacity.
