Essar Projects secures US$90M contract in Abu Dhabi

Essar Projects, a global Engineering, Procurement and Construction contractor headquartered in  Dubai, today announced that it has secured another two orders worth US$90  million, one from Abu Dhabi Polymers Company Limited and the other from  Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited.

The company has now secured a total of five projects in Abu Dhabi in recent times amounting to US$170 million, helping Essar Projects augment its presence in the competitive Middle East market. Of these five projects, three have been directly awarded on EPC basis to Essar Projects Limited. With this the order book of Essar Projects Limited has swelled to over US$3.5 billion.

Mr Alwyn Bowden, President & CEO, Essar Projects, said, “This is another step forward for Essar Projects in the region, underpinning our strategy to secure strong projects in our core sectors and to deliver real long-term value to our key customers.”

Borouge has awarded a direct contract to EPL involving engineering, procurement and construction of process equipment, associated pipelines and control systems for PE Color Grade Compounding (CGC) plant in Ruwais to be completed in a time frame of 22 months.

The second order worth US$55 million from Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Limited (GASCO) involves EPC and Commissioning (EPCC) of 24 inches x 110 km  condensate pipeline from Habshan to Ruwais in Abu Dhabi. The project needs to be completed in 26 months.

Commenting on the development, Mr Amit Gupta, CEO, Hydrocarbons SBU, Essar Projects, said, “It is a  real achievement to have secured these projects in the highly cost competitive hydrocarbons sector in the region and Essar Projects is very clear in its  commitment to take this achievement to further higher levels in the future.”
