URS awarded five-year contract extension by Wood River Refining
URS Corporation has been awarded a five-year contract extension by WRB Refining LP, a partnership between Phillips 66 and Cenovus Energy, to provide mechanical maintenance and construction services at the Wood River Refinery in Roxana, Illinois.
Under the contract, URS will perform general mechanical maintenance, capital projects, and turnaround services on refinery equipment, which involves upgrading and cleaning the units to ensure maximum production. The Wood River Refinery covers more than 2,000 acres and is the largest among the Phillips 66 refineries. With the capacity to process and refine more than 314,000 barrels per day of light and heavy crude oil, the refinery produces gasoline, diesel and jet fuels, as well as asphalt, propane and chemical feedstock. URS has supported the Wood River facility since 1992.
“URS is glad to continue its two decades of service at the Wood River Refinery,” said George L. Nash, President of Energy & Construction for URS. “With its high level of expertise, our integrated team of URS and WRB Refining personnel works together to keep the facility operating in peak condition, and we are pleased to continue this partnership.”
