Conference to address innovative enhanced oil recovery techniques in UAE

Rapid depletion and ageing of crude oil fields has been pressurizing oil producers to figure out new ways to acquire more oil from discovered oil & gas reserves. The growing importance of extracting oil from existing oil fields has led to continued growth, determining the Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) market development. A recent market report on EOR states that, the revenue of EOR technology is expected to reach USD 516.7 billion by 2023 and is anticipated to grow at a CAGR of 26.7% between 2013 to 2023. Addressing EOR Technological Developments till date, Fleming Gulf is organising the 3rd Global Innovative EOR Techniques Conference on 20 - 21 October at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Supported by the Independent Power Producers Forum (IPPF), the 2nd Annual highlighted the EOR scenario of the Middle East and discussed Global perspective on proven EOR methods. An attendee from Breitling Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation, USA expressing his view on the forum said, “It will allow attendees access to industry experts that have the answers and guidance local operators need in order to harness the power of EOR". Speaker from TIORCO-NALCO, UAE said, “EOR is before all a question of knowledge and experience and that EOR forum is a good opportunity of sharing: what is new? What is known? What I can expect in term of incremental oil for my field? What are the non-resolved issues? And more generally, what is going on globally in EOR? It is also a good way to be in contact with the global EOR community.“

The 3rd edition will assemble industry experts to share their knowledge and experience on economical constraints, global EOR processes, and various EOR techniques. The speaker panel apprising the attendees are from Petroleum Development Oman LLC, MOL Group, Author of The Myth of the Oil Crisis‘ and ‘Capturing Carbon‘, Turkish Petroleum Corporation and Agiba Petroleum Company amongst others. This year, the key focus are distinguished EOR techniques like Low Salinity, Microbial and Nanotechnology that aren't most commonly used in recovering oil. The conference will also discuss about the mostly commonly followed gas injection technology using CO2, its technical challenges and impact on the Middle East.

Acknowledging the expected rise in Chemical EOR Technology from 10.03 per cent in 2012 to 29.71 per cent in 2023, the attendees will also hear about Surfactants flooding in high salinity and high temperature carbonate reservoirs and Alkaline-Surfactant-Polymer (ASP) Flooding. Premium Gold Sponsors at the 3rd Global Innovative EOR Techniques Conference, Beijing Hengju Chemical Group Corporation is a large-scale chemical group corporation engaging in production, research and development, technical service, engineering and polymer preparation equipment supply. The conference is also sponsored by Flotek & SNF Floerger.
