Jacobs to provide construction management services at Sturgeon refinery

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc announced today that it received a contract to provide construction management services for North West Redwater Partnership’s Sturgeon Refinery project in Alberta, Canada.

Officials did not disclose the contract value, but noted that Jacobs is already providing engineering and procurement services for the utilities requirements of the refinery under a separate contract.

Located approximately 30 miles northeast of Edmonton, the Sturgeon Refinery is being designed to enhance cost effectiveness and minimize environmental impact. Although only Phase 1 is sanctioned at this time, eventually the facility is expected to operate at a capacity of 150,000 barrels per day; producing diesel, diluent and other bitumen products for national and global markets.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Greg Rumford stated, “We are pleased to strengthen our relationship with North West Redwater Partnership by providing construction management services as well as engineering and procurement services on this significant project. Our integrated approach to providing multiple services enables us to add value and drive efficiency as we help North West Redwater Partnership meet its business objectives at the Sturgeon Refinery.”
