INVISTA IPT to offer licenses for Green Chem’s FCC offgas technology
INVISTA’s technology and licensing business, INVISTA Performance Technologies (IPT) and Beijing Huiersanji Green Chem Co., Ltd. (Green Chem), a Beijing-based technology licensing company, have reached an agreement to enable INVISTA to license Green Chem’s fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) offgas technology outside of China.
The process, which will be marketed as DTL™ process technology outside of China, is a dry-gas-to-liquids technology that allows for flexible conversion of light olefins, present in FCC offgas, into either gasoline and distillate or concentrated aromatics, significantly increasing their value. This cost-effective solution captures the gas-to-liquids spread associated with FCC offgas upgrading and has a small equipment footprint when compared with process alternatives.
Per this agreement, INVISTA gains the right to license the FCC offgas technology and supply Green Chem’s proprietary catalyst to licensees outside of China. Green Chem’s technology has already been licensed to refineries in China and will be made available globally through this agreement.
“INVISTA has a strong capability in international technology licensing and engineering,” said Ruichi Zhang, president of Green Chem. “We are pleased this agreement will bring our technology to the world market.”
Mike Pickens, INVISTA’s IPT president, said, “The DTL™ process technology is a further expansion of IPT’s licensing portfolio in an important sector. We look forward to leveraging our global network to license this technology outside of China.”
