Chevron Phillips Chemical receive the elite silver safety award from AFPM

Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LP’s facility in Borger, Texas, received the Elite Silver Safety Award from American Fuel & Petrochemical Manufacturers (AFPM) on May 18 at AFPM’s Safety Awards Event in San Antonio, Texas. The Borger plant is the first Chevron Phillips Chemical facility to receive this award.

“Safe operations are a source of pride for our employees, and this recognition further validates their ongoing efforts to lead our peers in the industry,” said Stephen Goff, plant manager at Borger.

The AFPM Elite Silver Safety Award recognizes the top 5 percent in the fuel and petrochemical manufacturing industry that have exhibited excellent safety performance. Recipients are chosen by a selection committee represented by members of the AFPM Safety & Health Committee.

Additionally, the Borger facility received AFPM’s Meritorious Safety Performance and Safety Achievement awards.

Five other Chevron Phillips Chemical sites were also recognized by AFPM for their performance in employee and process safety, including Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and four sites in Texas at Cedar Bayou (Baytown), Conroe, Port Arthur and Sweeny.
