PKN ORLEN arranges crude oil supplies to its Czech refinery
PKN ORLEN has signed the annex to the contract with Rosneft Oil Company for crude oil supplies to Unipetrol in the Czech Republic. The annex provides for flexibility in the supply volumes – approx. 2,9 million tonnes to approx. 5 million tonnes per year. Today, PKN ORLEN has also signed a contract with Tatneft for the supply of approximately 600,000 tonnes of crude oil annually to its Czech refinery.
Deliveries from Rosneft will be made from July 1st 2016 to June 30th 2019 to the Litvinov plant. The contract with Tatneft will be effective from July 1st 2016 to June 30th 2017.
We are consistently pursuing our policy of diversifying the supply sources for our refineries, which not only guarantees the supply stability but also helps us negotiate the best contract terms. At the same time, in view of the current oil market conditions, we make sure that our negotiating position positively influence the companies within ORLEN Group, providing them with the best possible supply conditions - said Wojciech JasiÅ„ski, PKN ORLEN’s CEO.
Continued cooperation with oil producers under long-term contracts is in line with PKN ORLEN’s policy of ensuring security of supplies to the Group’s refineries. In addition to oil supplies under contracts with Rosneft and Tatneft, the refinery in Litvinov may also receive feedstock provided by Saudi Aramco under a long-term contract signed with PKN ORLEN.
