ValvTechnologies successfully completes NUPIC audit
ValvTechnologies, Inc, the global leader in the design and manufacturing of zero-leakage high-performance valve solutions, recently achieved NUPIC-approved suppliers list status, upon successful completion of the Nuclear Procurement Issues Committee (NUPIC) audit conducted at the Houston, Texas facility. NUPIC members include all domestic US nuclear utilities as well as several international members.
Formed in 1989 and committed to the future of commercial nuclear power, NUPIC has a proven process for evaluating suppliers furnishing safety-related components and services and commercial-grade items to nuclear utilities to ensure the highest standards of quality. Once a company is placed on the NUPIC-approved suppliers list, any nuclear utility can use this supplier as long as it approves the audit that was conducted by NUPIC.
ValvTechnologies is proud to have successfully completed this milestone. The week-long audit was led by Southern Nuclear Operating Company who concluded that ValvTechnologies has implemented an effective 10 CFR50 Appendix B and 10 CFR 21 quality assurance program that meets the requirements of NQA-1 -1994, 2008 and 2009 Addenda.
“This was a long process that spanned over eight years. It is the faith our customers have in our products and services that allowed us this success. ValvTechnologies’ long-term commitment to the nuclear industry is now complete,” said Bill Henwood, Nuclear Industry Director.
