Chevron Lummus Global announces four new technology licenses in China

Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) today announced it has been awarded the license, engineering design and catalyst supply for a grassroots integrated refining and petrochemical project in China. The new complex will use CLG’s ISOCRACKING®, ISOTREATING®, and delayed coking technologies feeding kerosene, diesel, vacuum gasoil, and residuum feedstocks to produce finished products. The high-quality, heavy naphtha produced by the complex will be used in a downstream plant employing BP Paraxylene OPEX advantaged crystallization technology, which is exclusively licensed by CB&I. CLG is a joint venture between Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and CB&I.

“This award represents what is likely the largest, single-train, full-conversion hydrocracker in the world,” said Leon de Bruyn, CLG’s Managing Director. “The high-yield of heavy naphtha that is feeding the large, downstream petrochemical site was a key reason for our customer to select CLG.”
