DeCarlo named R&D manager

Dr. Keith DeCarlo has been appointed Research and Development Department Manager, a new position, by Blasch Precision Ceramics, Inc.

"Our investments in R & D in both terms of personnel and equipment are aimed at supplying our customers with the latest in technology with an eye on continuous improvement in all that we do. Dr. DeCarlo has brought to Blasch a depth of knowledge and experience that will allow Blasch to better serve our customers and markets", according to David Bobrek, Blasch’s president.

DeCarlo joined the industrial ceramics firm in 2010 as a research engineer, where he focused on material development with regards to both improved properties and process ability. Under his direction, major investments have been made in material characterization technology. This new equipment, when combined with Blasch Precision Ceramics unique material formulation process, improves finished product performance and minimizes product variation.

In his new position, DeCarlo will be working directly with Blasch customers to develop new materials and products that improve their process performance.

DeCarlo earned his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees at Alfred University under the direction of Dr. William Carty, Dean of the Alfred Ceramics Department. He is currently enrolled in SUNY Albany’s M.B.A. program.
