Pemex seeking bids for rehabilitation work at its Miguel Hidalgo refinery

With the objective of improving security, performance and profitability of the Miguel Hidalgo refinery, Pemex informs that it will request bids for rehabilitation works for the H-Oil plant located within said refinery.

For this purpose, Pemex will adjudicate the project through an open international contest where national and international enterprises are expected to participate.
This will be carried out via the System of Electronic Contracting of Pemex. (Sistema de Contrataciones Electrónicas de Pemex (SISCeP).

Pemex CEO, Carlos Trevino Medina, emphasized that since the new judicial framework that the Energy Reform brought about, in which there is a mandate to maximize profitability of the company with the incorporation of corporate governance, 84%of today's purchases are done through open request for bids, which leads to a healthy competition between providers and ultimately toward operational savings and increased budgetary efficiency.

Trevino affirmed that the company that obtains the bid should carry out the project with the best international quality in optimal time and with competitive costs. A watershed moment in terms of execution time and major reparation is being sought with this bid; the project is expected to be concluded this year.

Currently, the plant processes amounts of pure diesel and produces hydrodesulfurized diesel with low sulfur content which are sent in bulk to the catalytic plants, as well as obtaining other products, like diesel, sour gas, dry gas and acid.
