VUV ANALYTICS™ partners with Shimadzu
VUV Analytics, Inc., pioneers in developing lab scale Vacuum Ultraviolet (VUV) based analytical instruments and Shimadzu, a leading manufacturer of analytical and medical instruments, today announced a Global Solutions Distribution agreement. The non-exclusive agreement combines the VGA gas chromatography detectors from VUV Analytics with the Shimadzu gas chromatography product line. Shimadzu Corporation, along with their subsidiaries and sub-distributors will be allowed to market and sell the VGA-100 and VGA-101 products as bundled solutions to the GCs.
“VUV Analytics has been quite open with Shimadzu regarding our technology’s application development over the past few years. Dr. Kevin Schug, Professor and Shimadzu Distinguished Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Texas at Arlington has been instrumental in the early validation studies and is the leading author of VUV related journal publications,” says Sean Jameson, Senior Vice President of Business Development at VUV Analytics. “We are thrilled to officially partner with Shimadzu to accelerate the adoption of our technology. They have great brand recognition and an excellent global reputation. VUV Analytics’ ASTM approved solution for PIONA analysis, along with other pending extensions of this application, will be an excellent complement to Shimadzu’s existing offerings for the hydrocarbon processing market.”
“Shimadzu has been able to closely monitor the evolution of the VUV Analytics’ technology. We have been very impressed by the rapid market adoption of this technology. The universal nature of this technology, along with the relative simplicity of the technique, makes it very attractive to many customers and markets. Specifically, the technology is gaining quick adoption in the hydrocarbon market as a simple and innovative solution for PIONA analysis. This is an application which customers have been seeking to simplify. We are excited about the opportunity this partnership offers our customers,” said Takaaki Hiraoka, Gas Chromatography Product Manager, Shimadzu Corporation.
