KazmunayGas heads to participate at the Downstream Caspian and Central Asia
An extensive delegation of senior representatives of Kazmunaygas and its subsidiaries and refineries will participate in the Downstream Caspian and Central Asia conference on the 23th-24th September in Nur-Sultan.
The 6th edition of the Downstream Caspian and Central Asia forum will be held in partnership with Kazenergy and Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and will be a part of the week-long Kazakhstan Energy Week event.
The delegation includes Deputy Chairman of the Board for the oil refining and marketing – Daniyar Tiyesov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries – Denis Kozyrev, First Vice President of Petrokazakhstan Oil Products – Askar Turisbekov, as well as senior representatives from both Atyrau and Pavlodar refineries. All in all the delegation will consist of 15 senior representatives including the heads and managers from the Modernization and Perspective Projects Department of the Kazakhstan’s national oil company.
Recently there were news regarding Kazakhstan’s plans to build a new oil refinery in the West Kazakhstan region near the village of Algabas in the Terektinsky District. The total cost of this project is estimated at $420 million.
Apart from Kazakhstan this year the event will focus on Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan – currently very active countries when it comes to downstream. Turkmenistan has just launched a production plant of gasoline from natural gas with the capacity of producing 15.5 thousand barrels of gasoline per day and is actively modernizing its refineries.
Uzbekistan is also actively developing its downstream sector. According to Uzbekneftegaz, a programme worth 30.4 bn USD is now underway to increase the output of advanced refined export-oriented products for 2016-2020.
