Walter Tosto send five LPG bullets to Heydar Aliyev Baku oil refinery
The first 5 LPG Bullets commissioned by our customer Tecnimont for the supply of 11 Bullets overall for Socar’s Heydar Aliyev Baku Oil Refinery modernization project were completed in just nine months.
The manufacturing activities took place in parallel at our facilities of Chieti, Italy and at our subsidiary company Walter Tosto WTB in Bucharest, Romania. The work division between the two headquarters and the constant coordination between the teams in Italy and Romania, allowed us to deliver the items in a very short time, considering the number, the complexity and the size of the Bullets. The largest items measure in fact 56 meters in length and over 6 meters in diameter, weighting over 330 tons each.
The shipping operations from the port of Ortona (Italy) and our dock in Oltenița (Romania) were carried out simultaneously and the Bullets are now traveling on board of two barges, one sailing in the Adriatic sea and the other along the Danube river. They will then continue their journey to the Caspian Sea and join at their destination in Baku, Azerbaijan.
