DuPont Clean Technologies Sochi symposium shares latest MECS® technology intelligence
The Sulfuric Acid Symposium held by DuPont Clean Technologies (DuPont) in Sochi, Russia, from Oct. 15-16, 2019, focused on the key drivers of the sulfuric acid industry and the technology solutions that have been designed to address them. Attended by more than 60 members of the sulfuric acid industry in the Commonwealth of Independent States, the event presented, evaluated and discussed materials, processes, systems, services, equipment and technologies that are aimed at improving sulfuric acid plant operations, productivity and costs.
“For us this was a great opportunity not only to find out about possible solutions that could help us meet the key objectives of our sulfuric acid plant, but it also was an event that enabled us to network and exchange views with peers, as well as discuss lessons learned and best practices,” said Alexander Smirnov¸ LLC IG “Phosphorit” (EuroChem group), Kingisepp, Leningrad region, Russia.
In nine sessions spread over two days, technology specialists from DuPont Clean Technologies covered topics such as new developments in sulfuric acid catalysts, plant capacity increase and expansion, project execution and process design, troubleshooting and issue investigation, emissions control, lifecycle cost reduction and specific technology solutions. The symposium concluded with a roundtable discussion which focused on plant optimization, turnaround improvements and environmental solutions.
