Sulzer GTC awarded aromatics extraction unit in India

HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Ltd (HRRL), a joint venture company between M/s HPCL and the government of Rajasthan, is setting up a state-of-the-art, 9 MMTPA integrated refinery / petrochemical complex in the Barmer District of Rajasthan.

The complex will include a dual-feed cracker unit with the objective to maximize the production of polymer-grade ethylene (890 KTPA) and polymer-grade propylene (560 KTPA) along with a benzene-toluene-xylene (BTX).

After being awarded the license for the DFCU block, TechnipFMC awarded the BTX extraction unit sublicense to Sulzer GTC Technology.

“The award is a start of a new business relationship between TechnipFMC and Sulzer GTC for supply of Aromatics Extraction Technologies,” said Sachin Joshi, Director of Licensing for Sulzer GTC in the Middle East and India.

Sulzer GTC’s scope of work shall include supply of the License, Basic Design Engineering Package, Proprietary Tower Internals and TECHTIV® 500 Solvent.
