BW LNG and Burckhardt Compression agree on 10-year partnership for 9 LNG carriers
BW LNG and Burckhardt Compression signed a ten-year service agreement covering nine LNG carriers with Laby¬ģ-GI Compressors on board. Building on their existing long-term relationship, the two companies agreed to a tailormade ‚ÄúFleet Management Solution‚ÄĚ which provides a total care package supported by the latest monitoring diagnostics.
Both companies’ BW LNG and Burckhardt Compression share similar views on Health and Safety, acknowledging it as the foundation for Operational Excellence. This partnership was established to formally cement and promote the holistic and sustainable service standards that are necessary in a changing and uncertain world. The contract marks a significant milestone in Burckhardt Compression’s strategy to offer lifecycle solutions tailored to customer needs. The new long-term service agreement (LTSA) was developed together with the BW LNG experts to provide services on board that add value to the operation of the vessels, such as improved lifecycle costs, operational efficiency and accurate preventive maintenance.
‚ÄúThis LTSA is an important milestone for us. We are proud to provide not only strong compressor technology but also tailormade service solutions together with and for our partner BW LNG. We are confident that this arrangement will ensure safe and smooth operations for the vessels and their crews on board.‚ÄĚ says Marcel Pawlicek, CEO, Burckhardt Compression.
The scope of the LTSA covers scheduled maintenance of the compressors, dedicated supervision, as well as preventive maintenance via remote diagnostics, field services, and fleet management over a period of ten years. The Burckhardt Compression fleet manager will, together with technical experts, monitor the performance of the units and continuously optimize the maintenance cycles in line with the operational requirements of the crew. Compressor maintenance will be carried out during vessel operations for maximum efficiency. All nine LNG carriers are ME-GI powered and equipped with Laby¬ģ-GI Compressors for BOG management.
