Crane energy flow solutions’ obtains 2 star rating in Shell TAMAP listing for Duo-Chek valve

CRANE Energy Flow Solutions, a leading provider of highly engineered products for fluid handling applications worldwide, recently announced that it has obtained Shell Supplier Technical Assessment Record (STAR) level 2 for its Duo-Chek® Check Valve.  As a result, the valve is now listed in Shell’s Technically Accepted Manufacturers & Products (TAMAP) database.  The selected Duo-Chek® valve range underwent Shell Type Acceptance Testing (TAT) in conjunction with a facility audit and company evaluation at CRANE’s Belfast design and manufacturing facility.

Capable of operating within the extreme temperature range of +450 degrees Celsius to -196 degrees Celsius, the Duo-Chek® can now be implemented in low and high temperature applications globally.  Low temperature applications within the LNG Cycle include: Liquefaction, Storage and Loading, Ocean Transport, Reception, Storage and Regasification.

“CRANE Energy strives to provide our end-users with reliable, quality products that address all of their needs, and the expanded temperature range capacity of the Duo-Chek® is just another example of our ability to do that,” said Michael Fegan of CRANE Energy Flow Solutions.  “We are proud to have received customer certification giving us the ability to provide this product to the industry on a wider scale.”

Other features include low leak rate levels compared with the industry standard API 598.  The minimal back flow that results protects the rotating equipment and prevents unnecessary pumping costs. Additional cost and weight savings, compared to swing check solutions, can be attributed to its Duo-Chek® design with API 594 face-to-face dimensions.
