Nalco receives three 2012 manufacturing leadership 100 awards

Nalco, an Ecolab company, and two of its leaders were presented with awards during the eighth annual Manufacturing Leadership 100 (ML100) Awards ceremony in Palm Beach, Fla.

The awards recognized the company and its leaders for sustainability, next-generation leadership and culture, and turnaround.

Nalco was presented with the 2012 ML100 Sustainability Award for its Refined Knowledge® system, which transforms significant amounts of real-time customer data into actionable knowledge. The data analysis system collects real-time information from a customer’s operation, including chemical dosing rates and tank inventories, and distributes the information to Nalco managers who use it to optimize production, reduce costs, improve customer response time and ensure more timely deliveries.

“The Refined Knowledge system provides faster and more accurate data and ensures greater consistency of information across multiple operations,” said Steve Taylor, president, Global Energy Services, Ecolab. “Our customers appreciate having high-quality operational data to help optimize treatment programs for maximum operational performance, sustainability credits and benchmarking.”

Taylor received the ML100 Next-Generation Leadership & Culture Award for leading the development of the Refined Knowledge system.

Terry Burleson, vice president, Global Energy Services, was presented with the ML100 Turnaround Award for overseeing a division transformation that resulted in a significant increase in Nalco’s share of the global downstream market.

“Terry is a strong supporter of advanced automation and process modeling techniques, which helped strengthen our product and service offering and differentiate Nalco from our competitors,” said Taylor.
