Sasol North America selects Univation’s UNIPOL PE process
Univation Technologies, LLC announced that Sasol North America Inc has selected Univation`s UNIPOL PE Process for its petrochemical project at Sasol`s Lake Charles site in Louisiana, USA. The 450 kta LL/HD swing polyethylene plant will be capable of producing a broad product portfolio including metallocene LLDPE. This will be the second UNIPOL PE Process plant for Sasol and its affiliates. The first one has been in operation in Sasolburg, South Africa since 1983.
"We are very excited that Sasol has chosen Univation`s UNIPOL PE Process to be part of its Lake Charles mega-project in Louisiana and equally proud to be part of Sasol`s strategic North American growth complex based on advantaged feedstocks," stated Cindy Shulman, President of Univation Technologies.
"After nearly 30 years of operating a UNIPOL PE plant in South Africa, Sasol has a long-standing relationship with Univation, and Sasol is looking forward to expanding its product portfolio to include latest generation Univation metallocene technologies," commented Mike Biesheuvel, Managing Director, Sasol Polymers International Investments.
The broad product portfolio and the flexibility of the UNIPOL PE Process will serve Sasol`s long term market needs both domestically as well as in export markets.
