Gastech 2014 brings its centres of technical excellence (CoTEs) to Korea

The rise in energy demands worldwide has put significant pressure upon the energy industry to ensure that the security of supply is met both within the short term and in the long run. Natural gas, with LNG in particular, has become the preferred energy supply for most countries looking to secure energy supply and lower emission levels. Energy companies are continuing to push the boundaries to enhance recovery and increase production of natural gas, but there is only so much the industry can do with current technologies.

Technological innovation is key to staying ahead of the game, and companies supplying these technical solutions will play a significant role in developing the world’s resources. To highlight these developments in gas technology, and drive awareness of innovations and advancements in the field, Gastech Conference & Exhibition is once again giving technical experts the opportunity to take the stage to showcase their developments for the gas industry at the Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs).

The CoTEs are educational theatres located on the Gastech Exhibition show floor. The theatres feature free-to-attend seminars dedicated to delivering knowledge, education and awareness of technological innovations in the gas industry. The 9 streams featured at the 2014 seminars will be: Offshore & Subsea Technology, Power Generation, LNG as a Shipping Fuel, LNG & Gas Carrier Shipbuilding, Liquefaction, Health, Safety, Security & Environment, Gas Monetisation NGL/GTL, Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) and Pipeline Infrastructure.

In October 2012, the CoTE seminars took place in London and were led by high-level speakers from renowned and respected associations and organisations such as Saudi Aramco, Wärtsilä, CompactGTL, CB&I, WorleyParsons, Lloyds Register, GTI, IIR, SUT, Invensys Operations Management, TD Williamson, CCSA and more. The seminars drew thousands of industry professionals and were a crucial showcase for the latest innovations, technologies, products, services and solutions. Each CoTE stream provided thought-provoking discussions on new technologies, recent case studies and ongoing research and development within specific areas of interest of the gas industry.

The next CoTEs will take place from 24 – 27 March at KINTEX 1, Korea as part of the Gastech Exhibition, and will be free to attend for all industry professionals. The event is currently calling on all experts in gas technologies within the 9 different streams to speak at the seminars.

“Technology has been fundamental in propelling exponential growth of the gas industry over a relatively short amount of time. That is one of the reasons why the CoTEs have been quickly established as one of the most anticipated features of Gastech. We look forward to welcoming submissions from industry leaders to showcase innovation that will play a role in driving the industry forward for decades to come.” says Amanda Basi, Content & Programme Manager for the CoTEs at Gastech.
