Kralupy refinery unplanned shutdown

UNIPETROL, a.s. informs that on 29 May 2013, ÄŒESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s. decided to shut down the whole Kralupy refinery operations.

The unplanned shutdown results from a lack of storage capacity for the Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit feedstock. The excess feedstock for the FCC unit is a consequence of difficulties with the FCC unit operations occurring since mid May.

ÄŒESKÁ RAFINÉRSKÁ, a.s. estimates that the whole Kralupy refinery operations will be restarted in approximately 10 days.

Negative impact on Unipetrol Group full-year 2013 EBIT is estimated at approximately CZK 60m due to loss of sales volumes.

The Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC) unit is the key unit of the Kralupy refinery which provides the conversion of heavy products into light high-value refinery products.
