China polypropylene production has fallen in three consecutive months

National Bureau of Statistics of China recently released data shows polypropylene production has fallen down to 993,300 tons in July, indicating a 5.4% decrease compared to last month. From January to July, the total production was 7206,000 tons, with a 13.2% increase compare to the same period of last year.

National Bureau of Statistics of China recently released data shows polypropylene (PP) production has fallen down to 993,300 tons in July, indicating a 5.4% decrease compared to last month. It has been dropping successively for the past three months. From January to July, the total production was 7206,000 tons, with a 13.2% increase compare to the same period of last year.

According to the report, Wuhan Petrochemical 800,000 t/y ethylene plant has been producing quality products since August 13th. The first and second production line of plant downstream PP unit has a capacity of 200,000 t/y separately, produced PP product is expected to be on the market before the end of this month. In addition, two PP production lines of Datang Intenational with a total capacity of 500,000 t/y will also re-start production soon.  CBI Research Center has forecasted that PP production will increase in August.
