Neste pro diesel is the first fuel to comply with the WWFC 5 specification

Neste Pro Diesel, a premium-quality diesel fuel developed and produced by Neste Oil in Finland, is the first anywhere to comply with the WWFC 5 specification drawn up as part of the Worldwide Fuel Charter (WWFC) by automotive manufacturers in Europe, the US, and Asia. WWFC 5 is the fifth edition of the specification to be announced to date and has been produced to reflect the latest developments in vehicle and engine technology.

"Vehicle and engine technology is constantly developing and this is putting ever-tougher demands on fuel quality," says Sam Holmberg, Neste Oil's Vice President, Traffic Services, Finland. "Neste Oil has long been a pioneer in cleaner fuels and is committed to developing and launching cleaner products. Thanks to our Neste Pro Diesel, Finnish drivers have the opportunity to be the first anywhere to fill up with a diesel fuel that meets manufacturers' latest recommendations."

The WWFC 5 specification, which has only recently been announced, raises the bar in terms of fuel quality and is intended to ensure the long-term, problem-free performance of engines and vehicle emission control systems. The WWFC 5 specification excludes conventional FAME-type biodiesel completely and favors more advanced biofuels, such as hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) and Biomass to Liquid (BTL) biodiesel. Neste Oil's NExBTL renewable diesel, which is produced by hydrotreating vegetable oil and waste, is one of the biofuels permitted under the WWFC specification and accounts for at least 15% of the content of Neste Pro Diesel.

WWFC 5-compliant Neste Pro Diesel is available at all Neste Oil's service stations across Finland. Neste Pro Diesel is compatible with all diesel vehicles and using the fuel can reduce fuel consumption and emissions, as well as improve vehicles' overall performance. Neste Pro Diesel's enhanced cold weather properties also help improve vehicle performance during the winter.
