Neste Jacobs to deliver the 3G renewal process of Borealis PE2 plant in Porvoo, Finland
Technology, engineering and project management company Neste Jacobs and Borealis, a leading provider of innovative solutions in the fields of polyolefins, base chemicals and fertilizers, have signed an agreement for Neste Jacobs to deliver the EPCM part of the renewal process of Borealis Borstar PE2 plant in Porvoo, Finland. With the renewal project the technology of the plant will be upgraded to third generation Borstar® technology and the usage possibilities of Borstar PE technology will be further developed. The 3G investment is scheduled for implementation after the 2015 autumn turnaround.
"For our company the agreement with Borealis is a prominent sign of confidence, which we are proud of", says Jarmo Suominen, Managing Director of Neste Jacobs. "Our vision is to be the preferred solution provider also for international petrochemical companies and to be in a key position in a renewal project like this is a matter of honour for us."
"We chose Neste Jacobs to be the EPCM provider in our renewal project as we have years of experience from the excellent quality and delivery reliability Neste Jacobs has", says Ismo Pentti, Managing Director of Borealis Polymers. "The current investment of 65 million euros is a natural continuation to the changes carried out in the 2012 turnaround, where Neste Jacobs was also heavily involved".
