The first LNG terminal station of Sinopec being under construction

Shandong LNG project, the first LNG terminal station of Sinopec, is under construction now and is progressing smoothly. As present, 84% of the overall construction works has been finished, including 95% of wharf construction, and 88% of three oil tanks construction and 70% of stationworks of the first phase

According to Zhang Ying and Ju Xun, Shandong LNG project, the first LNG terminal station of Sinopec, is under construction now and is progressing smoothly. As present, 84% of the overall construction works has been finished, including 95% of wharf construction, and 88% of three oil tanks construction and 70% of stationworks of the first phase.

Shandong LNG project has been kicked off in June 2011, and is one significant LNG project built in Qingdao, Shandong province by Sinopec according to its “Natural Gas Development Plan”.

In the light of the plan, Shandong LNG project will reach the first load LNG by September 2014. Project construction includes three parts, i.e. Wharf and on-shore area, LNG receiving station and gas transmission trunk line. The construction capacity of the first phase is 3 million t/y with a gas supply capacity of 4.05 billion cubic meters. The second phase capacity will be 5 million t/y, and a long-term reserve capacity of 10 million t/y will be reached. As the main construction project of Shandong peninsula, it will play an important role in gas supply security of Qingdao and even Shandong province after completion.
