Emerson breaks ground on new $16.7M service centre in Louisiana

Emerson Process Management, a business of Emerson, is expanding its presence in Louisiana with a new $16.7 million service center and regional campus in Gonzales. The first-of-its-kind in North America, this new Emerson facility will be home to a service centre, regional headquarters, training center and custom valve manufacturing operations.

Built on the 40-year heritage of Emerson’s Fisher® business that opened its doors in Ascension Parish in 1972, Emerson continues its service commitment to help improve plant performance at process companies not only on the Gulf Coast, but also across North America.

“The new Emerson Service Centre provides our customers the convenience of a one- stop shop by consolidating resources, tools and expertise from six existing Emerson operations in Louisiana under one roof,” said Jerry Major, vice president-general manager of Emerson Process Management’s Instrument & Valves Services. “This site’s dedicated training facility provides the step change to help continue to educate and train the workforce of the future on the latest diagnostics, machining and calibration techniques, custom valve manufacturing, hydro testing and remote monitoring.”

Emerson’s 24/7 emergency response capability is complemented by an in-house parts depot, outage management and execution services, engineering and consultation resources for plant audit support, instrument upgrades, as well as design and management for metering systems.

Construction on the new facility is expected to be completed in late November 2014.
