Linde expands presence in Houston energy corridor
To better serve its customers in the Houston area, Linde Engineering North America Inc,(LENA) and Linde Americas will soon expand their presence in the Houston Energy Corridor. Linde recently signed a lease for new office space at 12140 Wickchester Lane in Houston. Approximately 150 employees representing LENA and Linde Americas are expected to move into the new facility, starting in early April.
“We wanted to be in the Energy Corridor because it is an important economic and global hub in Houston,” said Steve Bertone, president and CEO, LENA."The facility not only provides us the right resources for our talented workforce, but will also enable us to work closely with our customers, partners and policy makers.”
Linde’s new facility in Houston will be centrally located, within close proximity of its customers in the petrochemical and energy sectors. “Linde has a strong presence in Texas and will continue to expand its presence in the state,” Bertone said.
Over the past two years Linde has invested more than $250 million to build a large, state-of-the art air separation unit (ASU), a new gasification train and supporting equipment and facilities in La Porte, Texas. LENA engineered, procured and constructed these plants for Linde Gases North America to own and operate. With the new plants, Linde has a fully integrated presence in the Houston area that covers air gases and synthesis gas products.
“Establishing a multi-discipline office in Houston is essential because it allows our sales and business development organizations to work alongside our engineering and construction groups, which will create a better and more efficient working arrangement with our customers in the area,” said Pat Murphy, president of Linde Americas. “Our unique portfolio of industrial gas, technology, engineering and operations capabilities will allow us to better serve our target markets, especially the petrochemical and oil and gas industries.”
