INDMAX unit to be set-up at Bongaigaon refinery

INDMAX unit to be set-up at Bongaigaon Refinery The Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for North-East which aims at doubling Oil & Gas production by 2030, making clean fuels accessible, fast tracking projects, generating employment opportunities and promoting cooperation with neighbouring countries gets a big boost with the announcement of INDMAX – Indane Maximisation Unit at Bongaigaon Refinery, by IndianOil. This was announced by Shri Sanjiv Singh, Director [Refineries], IndianOil addressing the top management of IndianOil Refineries. Indmax technology is more competitive and highly suitable for heavy feed contaminated with metals. This process has also been optimised to enhance propylene yield  from Paraffinic VGO feedstock. INDMAX of 0.1 MMTPA capacity was set-up at Guwahati Refinery as the pilot project. IndianOil built  4.27 MMTPA Indmax Unit at the recently commissioned Paradip Refinery.IndianOil Board has now approved setting-up of  INDMAX FCC Unit (incl. LPG Treatment) of  0.740 MMTPA cost of Rs 2582 at its Boanaigaon Refinery.

Speaking on the occasion Shri Sanjiv Singh, Director[Refineries], IndianOil said Ministery of Petroleum and Natural Gas has emphasised the important role of hydrocarbon Industry to catalyse growth in the North East region and to improving standard of living for the people, generating opportunities for the youth and creating a sustainable energy secure future through the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for North-East and IndianOil will make all efforts to contribute in this direction.

The Minister of State (I/C) for Petroleum and Natural Gas Shri Dharmendra Pradhan released last month, the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for north-east India, outlining steps to leverage the hydrocarbon sector for development of the region. Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas (MoPNG) has consciously and constantly focused efforts towards making hydrocarbons a tool to enable social and economic development. One such initiative has been the Hydrocarbon Vision 2030 for North East Region.

IndianOil operates Guwahati , Digboi and Bongaigaon Refineries in Assam and IndianOil’s pipelines and marketing network ensures making the vital petroleum products available across the entire north-east.
