Neste Jacobs launches its first digital operator training game
Technology, engineering and project management company Neste Jacobs releases the first new generation digital game called NAPCON Games Distiller. It is developed for operator training and operator testing purposes for the process industry and training institutes, and is available now for licensing.
NAPCON Games Distiller can be combined with the traditional operator training methods to maximize benefits and improve operator training. With the game, operators are able to learn new or enhance their existing skills in industrial distillation process. The learning is interactive, engaging and fun. The game comes with a vast variety of different game elements that enable learning to take place immediately and effectively. Sophisticated scoring systems and constant feedback enables the operators to track their progress and study their areas of improvement.
Modular architecture allows setting up an optimal training path with a series of tasks varying difficulty and scope. This enables operators of all levels to have challenging training sessions. NAPCON Games Distiller offers a safe and meaningful way to train operators cost-effectively with realistic phenomena. The game makes it possible to learn independently anywhere and anytime. The requirements for playing are a game license, a computer, and internet connection guaranteeing easy access to the training material.
"We have piloted NAPCON Games Distiller with our largest customers and we have received excellent results. According to these results, 100% of the respondents stated that the learning experience was fun and suitable for their training needs. 75% stated that the gamified training solution decreased their learning time and the learning experience was very or extremely interactive. Furthermore, 88% of the respondents would like to use NAPCON Games Distiller in their future training", says Mika Neffling, Sales Manager, NAPCON Games at Neste Jacobs.
"Based on the promising feedback and discussions with our current and potential new customers, we are convinced that gamified solutions respond well into the needs of process industry training. NAPCON Games product portfolio is the answer for changing training needs. It offers a new, exciting and efficient way of training to complement traditional training methods in addition to full-scale training simulators. The first customers who have started using game licenses for their operator training include for example Neste Corporation and operator training organizations Edupoli and Sentria. Overall the gamified training has been well received and is awaited addition to our training solutions", tells Jyri Lindholm, Head of Product Management, NAPCON at Neste Jacobs.
