NEA GROUP starts cooperation in Foshan
Guangdong-Aachen Green Energy Center" for decarbonization in South China. Climate change is a global challenge and can only be mastered through cross-border cooperation. In July 2021, the family business NEUMAN & ESSER GROUP (NEA GROUP), founded 1830, established a cooperation with the Technical College ‘Shunde Polytechnic’ of Foshan in South China. In this cooperation, the "Guangdong-Aachen Green Energy Center" will be built under the guidance of NEA GROUP by the end of 2022. "The objective of the center is to develop and implement technologies for decarbonization of industries and applications in Guangdong Province", explains Prof. Wei Xia, President of ‘Shunde Polytechnic’. As a solution provider along the hydrogen value chain, from production, transport and storage to application, NEA GROUP can contribute its expertise there in the best possible way.
The service portfolio of the center comprises three modules: Module 1 focuses on partnerships and cooperations. In order to cover the necessary spectrum of different competencies in projects for the implementation of hydrogen technologies, various companies with specific expertise must be involved. The center will serve as a platform where companies can network to create close partnerships and collaborations for projects. Module 2 includes the consulting and project development services required for large-scale hydrogen technology implementation projects. The center provides companies from different sectors, e.g. energy sector, logistics sector or mobility sector, an ideal environment for joint planning and execution of projects. Module 3 comprises seminars and conferences, where new approaches and solutions from the hydrogen economy are presented and discussed.
"With the ‘Guangdong-Aachen Green Energy Center’, the NEUMAN & ESSER GROUP aims to build up a close and international partner network. With this, projects can then be designed and implemented in Guangdong. In addition, we can further expand our position as a hydrogen expert in Asia-Pacific," emphasizes Alexander Peters, Managing Partner of NEUMAN & ESSER GROUP. The establishment of the "Guangdong-Aachen Green Energy Center" is led by NEA GROUP and supported by the city of Foshan.
This year, a pilot project between NEA GROUP and ‘Shunde Polytechnic’ will start, in which an integrated electrolysis-compressor plant will be designed and connected to renewable energy sources. The hydrogen produced will power existing hydrogen vehicles in Foshan as well as be used to decarbonize local industries.
The NEUMAN & ESSER GROUP (NEA), founded 1830 in Aachen, Germany is a leading manufacturer of compressor solutions including NEA piston compressors and high-pressure diaphragm compressors of HOFER as well as sealing elements for oscillating and rotating systems by STASSKOL. NEA offers comprehensive services for the NEA brand and 13 OEM legacies. Another main focus of NEA is the production of grinding and classifying systems. Its products serve all major applications in the Oil & Gas markets, Chemicals & Petrochemicals Industries, Food & Beverages, Renewable Energy and H2 Economy including H2 Mobility.
NEA (1,200 employees) consists of three holding companies in Germany, the USA and China, four production sites in Germany as well as two in the USA as well as 21 engineering and service companies at 10 strategic locations around the globe. With NEA X, the experts for digitalization projects, NEA GROUP features an interdisciplinary, experienced team with a wide-ranging background in the sector that accompanies the customers’ technological transformation from the requirements analysis via implementation to support during productive operation.
To position as a solution provider with upstream and downstream processes along the H2 value chain NEA GROUP founded the NEA ENERGY division. This currently comprises five companies: NEA GREEN helps customers with the decarbonization of their energy or industrial systems, and on decentralized applications. ARCANUM is a solution provider for the entire process chain from the biogas plant through biogas processing to grid feed-in, including the further processing of biomethane to green hydrogen. HYTRON is NEA’s solution provider in the fields of engineering and system integration for PEM and alkaline electrolyzers as well as natural gas and ethanol reformers. Alternative Energy Driven Solutions (AE DS) is a 50% stake of NEA, developing mobility concepts based on a CO2-neutral charging and supply infrastructure.
