Topsoe positions itself for growth in China

Topsoe’s new, state-of-the-art automotive catalyst plant in Tianjin ramps up production, while the automotive organization is restructured to better support the Company’s market-leading catalyst for the growing heavy diesel segment.

Topsoe’s Automotive business area is entering a new phase with increased emphasis on customer needs and bringing Topsoe’s market-leading automotive catalyst to the market. The Company’s state-of-the-art plant in Tianjin, China, is reaching full production capacity and so will become a major production site for Topsoe’s proprietary catalysts for the heavy diesel segment, providing additional capacity to the production in Denmark and Brazil to accommodate the forecast growth of the business.

Topsoe’s Automotive organization has been restructured to optimally position the business for the next phase of its development and a leader with experience in the automotive catalyst industry will be appointed in the first quarter of 2017. To enhance Topsoe’s technology advantage the Company will focus on the further development of Topsoe’s unique substrate and vanadium-based SCR catalysts for heavy-duty diesel engines. The Company is also actively exploring relationships in relevant markets where it is believed combining industry leading products will enhance the existing product offering for current and future customers.
