PCS receives patent for crude stabilization process

Process Consulting Services has been granted a patent for a novel crude stabilization process. Conventional small field stabilization units, often called “heater treaters” can be used to stabilize crude for transportation, but are very inefficient. They use a high amount of energy to operate and fractionate poorly, meaning that crude shrinkage is higher than necessary given the vapor pressure specification.

The new stabilization process developed by Process Consulting Services allows for efficient, low-shrinkage stabilization of crude oil without a need for desalting.
