Sulzer unlocks the potential of Sadara’s columns

Sulzer Chemtech, specialists in solutions and services for separation and mixing technologies, has completed in record time a range of column revamp projects for Sadara Chemical Company (Sadara), the largest chemical complex ever built in a single phase and located in Jubail Industrial City II, Saudi Arabia. As a result, the involved manufacturing plants were able to minimize the required shut down days significantly.

The feedback that Sulzer received from Sadara was very positive. Matti Viitanen, Operations Director for Sadara Isocyanates, stated: “Sulzer’s quick identification of the necessary parts as well as its manufacturing and delivery readiness were a big help to us, and is exactly the kind of support we look for in our partners. Given the nature of the tailor-made parts and material requirements, the work done was completed in a very short time and helped to support our return to operations quickly.”

Bob Brandt, Vice President of Manufacturing and Engineering at Sadara also commented, saying: “We very much appreciate the support we received from Sulzer. The turnaround time and the quality of service were exemplary and highlights the strong partnership we have.”

Vijay Thore, Head Operations – TFS Middle East at Sulzer Chemtech, comments: “Customer satisfaction is a key element for Sulzer and we are committed to delivering every project without compromising on quality. The extraordinary team effort to deliver optimal separation solutions for Sadara and our operational excellence are reflected in the enhanced productivity of the different plants. These contracts are only the beginning and we hope to grow our relationship with Sadara with additional projects.”
