GTC Technology selected by SLOVNAFT for aromatics recovery unit
GTC Technology will provide aromatics recovery technology to SLOVNAFT, a.s. for the reconstruction of an aromatics extraction and distillation unit at SLOVNAFT’s Bratislava, Slovak Republic, refinery.
SLOVNAFT, a member of the MOL Group, one of Eastern Europe’s largest oil companies, is the most recent refiner to select GTC’s GT-BTX® process. GT-BTX will be used to recover high-purity aromatics from the mixture feeds of reformate and hydrotreated pygas and fractionate the extract into benzene, toluene, ethyl-benzene, m/p-xylene and o-xylene products.
“We are delighted about the selection of GT-BTX by SLOVNAFT,” said Joseph C. Gentry, GTC’s Director of Global Licensing. “We are confident SLOVNAFT will find significant value-added performance with this technology, just as a growing number of others have, and are excited about another opportunity to serve the European fuels and chemicals market.”
This is the 37th award of GT-BTX technology since 2002. GTC’s scope of work for this project includes license, basic engineering design, proprietary tower internal supply, proprietary solvent supply and technical service.
