Sulzer expands its Tower Field Services capabilities with a new facility
Sulzer Chemtech is expanding its Tower Field Services (TFS) capabilities by moving into a new state-of-the-art facility on Tees Advanced Manufacturing Park (TeesAMP), Middlesbrough, U.K. This will enable the company to strengthen its repair, maintenance and corrosion protection services for processing equipment, columns, vessels and power plant boilers to meet growing market demand throughout Europe, Russia and Africa (ERA).
Sulzer supports the refining, chemical processing and power industries with state-of-the-art maintenance, repair, upgrade and revamp services for key equipment, such as separation units, mass transfer components and waste to energy boilers. The company’s current facility in Stockton-on-Tees has seen considerable success, which has led to a growing number of projects and customers. To meet increased demand and enhance its service offering, Sulzer is moving to a new building.
The new facility will allow Sulzer to strengthen its column and tower services offering to customers in ERA, including its automated weld overlay capabilities for manufacturing and processing facilities, including waste to energy power plants. In particular, it will enable a large, ever increasing number of training and logistics operations to be conducted in a controlled environment. The company will be able to further increase its continuous training activities, improving the skills of technicians with detailed, tailored in-house courses on confined space entry, weld overlay and repair training.
Graham Glen, Head of TFS — ERA at Sulzer, comments: “We are thrilled to be moving into the new premises in TeesAMP. Sulzer is committed to providing its customers with advanced technologies and services. In particular, we are ready to support them as the needs of their manufacturing and processing plants evolve and grow. We are well prepared for the future and this new facility will strengthen our position as a leading partner for the maintenance as well as optimization of distillation towers, processing equipment and power plants."
