CMS introduces breakthrough quality assessment solution for major savings on leaking tubes
Corrosion Monitoring Services Inc, the only company in the world to offer complete, integrated inspection, loss prevention and field repair services for tubular air heaters, today introduced a breakthrough solution for quality assessment that provides its clients with unprecedented information regarding the financial impact of preventative maintenance procedures and reactive emergency situations associated with leaking tubes.
CMS offers the most comprehensive inspection services in the industry. In addition to its proprietary hot (online) inspection and cold (visual) inspection services, CMS will add an additional, complementary cold inspection step. CMS will utilize the AcousticEye Dolphin G3™ non-invasive system to test the tubes in and around damaged zones for integrity using the latest advancements in acoustic technology. The AcousticEye inspection will show exactly where the tube is leaking along its entire length and will also be used to verify the integrity of repairs once completed, enabling CMS to generate a key operating indicator report proving tube condition. CMS will then use this information as a basis for financial analysis and recommendations.
“With the AcousticEye system as part of our solution set, we have raised our quality assessment capabilities to a new level”, said Mr. Ron Preston, Vice President Sales at CMS. “CMS is now uniquely positioned to provide our clients with a clear and validated picture of the financial impact of leaking tubes on their operation. This gives them an exceptional decision-making tool for minimizing the large monetary losses and hidden operational consequences that arise from air heater tube leakage.”
Mr.Yoav Harel, CEO of AcousticEye Ltd., said: “CMS is forward-thinking in its approach to offering its clients the most comprehensive range of inspection solutions possible, including the latest technology tools, to maximize operational costs savings associated with air heater maintenance and repair. We look forward to working with them to deliver an excellent value proposition to their customers.”
CMS is able to profile temperature dynamics and combustion gas distribution throughout the entire air heater while it is in operation. This allows for the prediction of future failure points, as well as identification of existing failure points and accurate measurements of where leakage is taking place. The AcousticEye system will validate the results of this hot (online) testing, showing degradation such as holes, partial and full blockages, and thinning walls. Armed with this information, CMS works with customers to increase output and fuel efficiencies in the boiler and in the surrounding pollution control equipment.
The on-site method of repair is proprietary to CMS, using specialty tooling and efficient material handling techniques that afford replacement of damaged tubes without the removal of the building roof and surrounding pollution control equipment. CMS also uses a unique method of preparing off-site, allowing for safe and timely completion of a project while reducing the number of field hours needed to make a repair.
