Record breaking attendance at eighth StocExpo
Leading terminal operators, oil majors, chemical companies, manufacturers and suppliers came together at StocExpo 2012 in unprecedented numbers. The show saw a record number of visitors, with an attendance increase of 51% from the 2011 edition and companies such as BP, BASF, ExxonMobil, Shell, TanQuid, Total, Inter Terminals, Oiltanking, Saudi Aramco, Sea-Tank Terminal, Stolthaven Terminals and Vesta Terminal all in attendance.
There were 180 exhibitors from across the globe - an increase from 160 in 2011 - bringing their latest developments in the bulk liquid storage sector to demonstrate to an international market. Market leaders such as Geldof, Emerson, Honeywell Enraf, YokaGawa, Tank Farm Services, Implico, Croon, Verwater, Siemens, Satam and FireDos used the event to develop existing business connections as well as setting up new partnerships. One exhibitor, Lightning Eliminators & Consultants Inc. commented: "We are very happy with the quality of leads coming into our booth." A representative for Elmac Technologies Ltd. also said: "StocExpo gives us good exposure to existing and new clients providing excellent networking potential."
Herve Dalga, Directeur Adjoint Exploitation, Rubis Terminal commented about the event: "I attend StocExpo every year primarily to discover new solutions in automation and instrumentation. It is a great marketplace to uncover solutions that will help me in the future. StocExpo is also a great place to meet my favourite partners in the tank construction and piping industry." David Gardner, Sevenoaks Consulting said: "The best show in Europe for the downstream side of the oil industry." Whilst Sylvester Hancoop, Frans Mikkens TMF commented: "StocExpo is a great event to get information on products and problem solving solutions."
The StocExpo Conference running alongside the exhibition was also a great success, with 30 industry experts speaking and an impressive 100% of delegates rating the range of content as excellent. The Conference took place over three days with each having a particular focus on industry issues such as: operational efficiencies, market outlook for bulk liquid storage & industry development; achieving tank storage efficiencies through best practice solutions & tank cleaning; and regulatory, safety & environmental challenges.
Matt Benyon, Managing Director, StocExpo said: "We were delighted with the success of StocExpo 2012. We intensified the visitor marketing campaign compared to previous years, with more HTML and online activity than ever before and a larger number of media and trade association partnerships across the globe. Given what we achieved in just three months since acquiring StocExpo, we are really excited about the growth potential of the event. We are looking forward to welcoming the industry to StocExpo 2013 next year at Antwerp Expo from 19-21 March 2013."
Peter Patterson, Managing Director, Horseshoe Media judged the Best Stand awards at the event with prizes going to J de Jong for Best Entertainment, Verwater for Best Stand and Emerson for Best Hospitality.
In addition, the organisers launched two other events at StocExpo, Tank Storage Canada taking place in Calgary on 16-17 October 2012 and Tank Storage Asia, taking place in Singapore on 11-12 December 2012.
