BARTEC recognized as a powerhouse for new ideas
Ranga Yogeshwar honors the most innovative medium-size companies/BARTEC is among the “Top 100”
They share an excellent inventive talent, exemplary innovation processes and successfully build the bridge from idea to market success: The most innovative medium-size German companies. Ranga Yogeshwar presented them with the “Top 100” award on June 22 in Friedrichshafen/Germany. In 2012, BARTEC has been recognized in this group for a second time.
BARTEC – this name is a synonym for safety and explosion protection worldwide. The company is one of the leading providers of industrial safety technology worldwide for use in hazardous areas. The products and solutions from the corporate group are used wherever there are explosive conditions due to dangerous materials such as flammable liquids, gases and dusts. They prevent the conditions that would lead to an explosion and ensure the safety of people and the environment. This time, the jury was especially impressed by how BARTEC combines new developments with existing assets in the effort to continuously develop and improve the product and service portfolio. “In explosion protection, it takes a certain amount of time until you get certification and the product can be used in potentially explosive areas,” explains Dr. Anjou Appelt, member of the Executive Board. Nonetheless BARTEC is always looking to offer something innovative, so is constantly further developing its proven products. In around 40 of its larger projects per year the company is called upon to come up with entirely new developments. One example is the new features developed for mobile computers, which offer effective explosion protection within industrial facilities. Another is BARTEC’s development of the first heating cable free of toxic substances for heating pipelines. Appelt sees a big competitive advantage in the balanced proportion of state-of-the-art technologies available to the customer paired with genuine new developments. “We are way out ahead in the market, since we are substantially more broadly positioned than many others and can offer our customers innovative complete solutions,” says Dr. Appelt with conviction.
Prof. Nikolaus Franke and his team from the Vienna University of Economics and Business have examined innovation management at 281 medium-size companies. The best of them receive the “Top 100” seal of approval. Dr. Appelt of BARTEC is happy about the award and emphasizes the team effort: “I regard the seal of approval as an award for our employees. Their enthusiasm and effort are the number one factor in our innovation. At the same time, we have established the right environment for this creativity to productively unfold. Both of them together make us successful.”
