Neste Jacobs awarded engineering, project management and consultancy services contract
Technology, engineering and project management company Neste Jacobs and Abu Dhabi based Borouge have signed a long-term contract where Neste Jacobs provides Engineering, Project Management and Consultancy Services to Borouge.
Under the contract, Neste Jacobs will deliver Borouge specialized services such as studies, design, engineering, project management and support services connected with implementation of projects as well as services related to development of process, automation and plant performance.
"The contract with Borouge is significant to us and a very important step forward for our company. We have established ourselves in Abu Dhabi in 2011 and it is an important part of our strategy to increase our presence in the Arabian Gulf region and serve the local industry", says Jarmo Suominen, Managing Director of Neste Jacobs. "This long-term contract supports Neste Jacobs' vision to become a preferred solution provider for hydrocarbon industries and will provide us with an opportunity for sustainable growth during the coming years."
Borouge is one of the world's leading polyolefins (Polyethylene, Polypropylene and Low density Polyethylene) producers. Their annual capacity in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi will reach 4.5 million tonnes by 2014 making it the world's largest integrated polyolefin complex. The petrochemical plants include the world's largest ethane cracking and Olefins conversion units. Borouge is owned by Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), who manages and oversees oil production of more than 2.7 million barrels a day, and European based Borealis, a leading provider of chemical and innovative plastics solutions.
