The application of DSO technology accelerate domestic State-5 gasoline upgrading
A selective hydrodesulphurisation technology of catalytic gasoline (DSO technology) developed by Petrochemical Research Institute, PetroChina has been successfully employed in a 900,000 t/y FCC gasoline hydrodesulphurisation unit in Haerbin Petrochemical Company to reduce the sulphur content of gasoline from 108 mg/kg to less than 7.5 mg/kg, meeting State-5 Motor Gasoline Standard. It is the first case of PetroChina adopting self-developed DOS short-process technology to produce State-5 gasoline.
According to Shuya Zhang and Jiarui Pu, a selective hydrodesulphurisation technology of catalytic gasoline (DSO technology) developed by Petrochemical Research Institute, PetroChina has been successfully employed in a 900,000 t/y FCC gasoline hydrodesulphurisation unit in Haerbin Petrochemical Company to reduce the sulphur content of gasoline from 108 mg/kg to less than 7.5 mg/kg, meeting State-5 Motor Gasoline Standard. It is the first case of PetroChina adopting self-developed DOS short-process technology to produce State-5 gasoline.
To meet the needs for clean gasoline production technologies, PetroChina Petrochemical Research Institute has spent 6 years developing the DOS technology. This is a key gasoline upgrading technology, featuring high desulphurisation efficiency, low octane loss and high liquid yield.
It is reported that DSO technology is expected to be consecutively adopted by Yumen Petrochemical, Daqing Petrochemical, Changqing Petrochemical, Yunnan Petrochemical, etc., adding up to a total of 5 petrochemical companies to significantly increase the portion of State-5 standard gasoline production for PetroChina, promoting China gasoline upgrading and devoting to low carbon economic development.
