Neste Jacobs awarded ammonia - urea fertilizer contract by SOCAR
Neste Jacobs Awarded Project Management and Inspection Services contract by SOCAR in Azerbaijan Technology, engineering and project management company Neste Jacobs and SOCAR, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic have signed an agreement, where Neste Jacobs will act as Project Management Consultant (PMC) and coordinate third party inspections for SOCAR in constructing a greenfield ammonia-urea fertilizer plant in Sumgayit, Azerbaijan.
By the time the new ammonia-urea complex is up and running it will produce 1,200 tons of ammonia and 2,000 tons of urea per day. This nitrogen fertilizer project belongs to the State Program on Reliable Food Supply of Population in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2008-2015. The works under the EPC Contract for the plant project are estimated at approximately 622 million euros.
Neste Jacobs will form and mobilize a PMC Team firstly to Seoul, South Korea to supervise the EPC contractor on behalf of SOCAR. When the construction phase begins, the team will be mobilized to Baku, Azerbaijan.
