Catalyst produced at Neft Omsk Refinery makes it into this year’s Russia’s 100 best products
A micro-spherical zeolite-containing bi-zeolite catalyst produced at the Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery has won a gold at the national Russia’s 100 Best Products competition. Bi-zeolite catalysts are used in catalytic cracking, one of the most important processes integral to deep refining and the production of the most environmentally friendly (Euro-5 standard) diesel fuels. The Omsk Refinery has been producing bi-zeolite catalysts for catalytic cracking since 2012, and is today one of the most significant producers of micro-spherical catalytic cracking catalysts in Russia. Demand for catalysts throughout Russia’s refineries is currently being met through imports.
Diesel produced at the Omsk Refinery, another gold winner at the Russia’s Best 100 Products awards, has advanced performance characteristics, with sulphur content reduced to 10 milligrams per kilo — the highest possible environmental standard. Overall, six of the Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery’s products received awards at this year’s contest, with the company’s DT-Z-K5 winter diesel, TC-1 jet-engine fuel, B-grade methyl tert-butyl ether (MTBE), and A-grade catalytic gas oil all taking silver.
Oleg Belyavsky, General Director of the Gazprom Neft Omsk Refinery, commented: “The Omsk Refinery’s market leadership, and the production of goods meeting international quality standards, is the result of the ongoing development and thoroughgoing modernisation of the plant.”
