Grabner Instruments MINIVAP-On-Line measures all vapour pressure standards

The MINIVAP-On-Line from AMETEK Grabner Instruments is the only process analyzer that directly measures Reid Vapor Pressure (RVPE), True Vapor Pressure (TVP) and vapor/liquid ratio according to all major industry standards. The highly versatile instrument can be used to determine the vapor pressure of gasoline, crude oil, LPG and NPG.

Based on extensive ASTM inter-laboratory measurements, the MINIVAP On-Line analyzer outperforms other vapor pressure process analyzers in terms of precision. That precision allows fuel blending as close as 0.3kPa (0.05psi) to vapor pressure, helping to reduce costs and optimize operating profits. It is a unique RVP process analyzer able to perform a triple expansion, offering refiners considerably improved reliability and Round Robin-proven precision.

At the core of the MINIVAP On-Line is the same triple expansion measurement method used in MINIVAP laboratory analyzers that have long been recognized as the industry standard in vapor pressure measurement. The triple expansion method also is the only method for monitoring the amount of dissolved gas delivered in a batch of fuel, improving the inspection of fuel quality. A high value for dissolved gas may indicate a leakage in the system or that several light ends are included within a batch.

The MINIVAP On-Line is easy to operate and maintain. The instrument features a piston lubrication system as well as extensive self-diagnostic testing capabilities. Its housing is explosion proof, Class 1, Type X or ATEX certified. Its measurement cell is mounted with quick fittings and can be exchanged within minutes.

The MINIVAP On-Line is automatically calibrated with 2.2 dimethylbutane in programmable intervals. There is no need to adjust correlation formulas or take offline samples to verify analyzer results versus laboratory equipment. Calibration corrections are completed automatically, and the results of the last calibration are displayed along with the measured vapor pressure of a sample.

The MINIVAP On-Line was developed by AMETEK Grabner Instruments, a pioneer and world leader in vapor pressure testing. Grabner Instruments revolutionized vapor pressure testing in 1987 with the launch of the MINIVAP—the world’s first automatic mini-vapor pressure tester that eliminated operator bias and tiresome sample handling that, up to then, had been associated with vapor pressure testing.

Over the years, Grabner Instruments has been universally recognized as the worldwide expert in vapor pressure testing, and since 1993, its MINIVAP has served as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s reference instrument for highest-precision vapor pressure measurement.
