OpenTAS certified for EMCS 2.2
Implico’s OpenTAS terminal management software has now been certified for use with the new EMCS Release 2.2. This means that the Implico Group's logistics solution will continue to enable tank terminals and refineries to automate their shipping processes with a fully integrated customs clearance tool. The software and consulting company will be converting its customers' systems over the next few weeks.
All shipments of duty-suspended petroleum products must be approved by customs. Registration and processing must be carried out via EMCS 2.2 starting in July this year. OpenTAS has already been certified for the new release of EMCS (Excise Movement and Control System). To obtain certification, the downstream experts at Implico spent the past few weeks adapting the software to meet the latest requirements.
Implico has already been asked to deploy the new EMCS release by some of its customers. The software company will be migrating all refineries and tank terminals that want to keep benefiting from fully integrated customs clearance. This ensures that they are perfectly prepared when EMCS 2.2 becomes mandatory in the summer and EMCS 2.1 can no longer be used.
OpenTAS is one of the few solutions capable of handling electronic customs clearance in a completely automated way. At the entrance to the tank terminal, the driver presents his card and the system then transmits the anticipated shipping information to customs. The driver cannot fill the tanker truck at the loading bay until customs has approved the shipment in principle. When the driver leaves the terminal, OpenTAS transmits the exact quantity loaded to customs. In a second step, all transport documents are automatically printed for the driver. The complete integration of EMCS procedures within OpenTAS considerably reduces
